Ian Hislop and Nick Newman's hit comedy is coming to the Headgate. Keen to boost his flagging career, fading Hollywood action hero Jefferson Steele arrives in England to play King Lear in Stratford - only to find that this is not the birthplace of the Bard, but a sleepy Suffolk village, and instead of Kenneth Branagh and Dame Judi Dench, the cast are a bunch of amateurs trying to save their theatre from developers. Jefferson's monstrous ego, vanity and insecurity are tested to the limit by the enthusiastic am-dram thespians. As acting worlds collide and Jefferson's career implodes, he discovers some truths about himself - along with his inner Lear! Contains some strong language!

Constructions of Thin Air, 26th January 2018, 19:30 at DanceEast, Jerwood DanceHouse, Ipswich, Suffolk, Foundry Lane, Ipswich (13.6 miles)
Nine performers merge contemporary dance, physical theatre and everyday objects to transform the stage into shifting architectural landscapes. Constructions of Thin Air unfolds in two acts: the first asks questions about the notion of belonging to systems, whether political, economic, or social; the second provokes thoughts on the notion of home, family and identity. Tilted Productions creates playful and challenging cross-art form collaborations that reimagine the familiar and open up fresh, poetic perspectives on the world we live in. Created by Tilteds Artistic Director Maresa von Stockert in collaboration with an intergenerational cast, this new work for the stage evolved from the companys acclaimed outdoor promenade piece BELONGING(s).

Funded by Arts Council England and Ipswich Borough Council. The creation process was supported by 101 - Outdoor Arts Creation Space, Newbury, and DanceEast, Ipswich.

With music from Stravinsky and Ben Foskett, The Knot will create the atmosphere of a large wedding party in which the performers are the bride, groom, best man and bridesmaids, and the audience are the guests.

Bounceability meet at 157 Colchester Road, Colchester Road, West Bergholt (2.1 miles)
Bounceability is something we are born with. Think about a child learning to walk. No matter how many times they might stumble and fall, they get right back up again and try again until they get it right. The trouble is that as we grow up our view of the world is shaped and fashioned by our experiences, and sometimes we become fearful of trying again. We get stuck into negative patterns of behaviour and ways of thinking and sometimes just don't know how to change. Have you got stuck or just forgotten how to be happy? Have you given up trying? Maybe you could use some Bounceability.
So whether you feel as if you are in a rut but can't figure out how to get out of it; if you have made bad choices and are struggling with the consequences of your decisions; if you have a bad habit that you want to eliminate; if you want to lose weight or stop smoking; if your nerves are getting the better of you or if something outside your control has had an impact on your life, or whatever is stopping you from living the life of your dreams, you need some Bounceability.
